What is a charter school?
Charter schools are independently-operated public schools. Parents can choose to send their children to a public charter school outside of their “zoned” public school. There is no charge or tuition to attend a public charter school. While charter schools have flexibility in choosing curriculum and developing innovative teaching practices, charter schools must test students and report results, just like the government-operated public schools, as required by federal and state laws.
How much does it cost to attend Lincoln Preparatory Academy?
Lincoln Prep is a publicly-funded charter school. There is no tuition charged to attend a charter school.
Are Lincoln Prep’s teachers certified?
Every Lincoln Prep Teacher is certified to teach in the subject and grade-level to which they are assigned. All staff is highly qualified.
What are your class sizes?
Most classes have about 25 students.
What are your school hours?
9:10 am - 4:00 pm
Do you offer transportation?
Yes. To students in grades K-5th who live 1.75 miles or further away from the school.
Do you offer before care and aftercare?
Yes. Provided for a nominal fee.
Our building is secure with a complete campus camera system. Additionally, all visitors are required to be screened at the office and wear a visitor’s badge.
What sets Lincoln Prep apart from other schools?
Lincoln Prep offers a choice for parents and students within the public school system. Our staff is driven and focused on the achievement of our students. We place high emphasis on creating a safe environment in our building. Our curriculum offers small group learning, allowing the teacher to focus on the needs of the individual child, while integrating technology.

Do students wear uniforms?
Yes. Lincoln Prep students wear uniforms. The uniform is a burgundy polo shirt with khaki trousers or skirt. We find that a simple, comfortable dress code marks learning as a serious endeavor and minimize student distractions.
Testing and Assessment
Lincoln Prep students participate in MAP testing school wide, which tests student achievement and projects their proficiency on the state testing level. Lincoln Prep students also participate in state assessments, such as the Ohio Achievement Assessment (OAA) and other state assessments being implemented this school year, such as the PARCC and AIR assessments.
Does Lincoln Prep offer Breakfast and/or Lunch?
Yes. We offer breakfast and lunch to all students through the NSLP Food Service Program. You will need to fill out the application when you enroll your child.
Do you have special education programs (IEP, Speech, ESL)?
Yes. Lincoln Prep provides services to any child with special needs with the goal of having the student become successful in regular classroom settings. Each child is evaluated to determine the most effective educational program we can provide, consistent with federal law.
Do you offer tours of your building?
Yes. Lincoln Prep will conduct tours of the building for families that are looking to enroll their children. These are appointment based. Please call the school to schedule today!
